Dear Parent(s)/Guardian(s):

Our Week at a Glance newsletter is sent out once a week to provide you with the most up to date information on what is happening at Ranchlands School.

Important Dates

Terry Fox Run - Friday, September 20

One of our greatest Canadian heroes is Terry Fox, whose dream was to find a cure for cancer. He raised funds for cancer research by trying to run across Canada. Our 2024 Terry Fox School Run is set for Friday, September 20.

As a Ranchlands community, our goal is to support the Terry Fox Foundation. We are once again holding a coin drive this year. Our slogan is “Toonies for Terry,” but students can bring in nickels, dimes, quarters, loonies, and toonies during this time. We will collect money from September 16th – September 27th and our fundraising goal has been set at $800. You can also make an online donation at https://schools.terryfox.ca/Ranchlands. NOTE: If you make an online donation please e-mail your child’s teacher with the amount of the donation as we will be having a competition to see which class raises the most money. The winning class will receive a pizza party.

Staff and students at Ranchlands are very excited to be a part of this year’s event! If you are interested in being a parent volunteer, please contact our Assistant Principal, Mrs. Wong, at tjwong@cbe.ab.ca. Please join us to support cancer research while building incredible school spirit for all of our students. Let’s keep Terry’s dream to find a cure for cancer alive! Sincerely,  Mrs. Baker & Mr. Hefler
