Announcements
Literacy Week - Apr 28 - May 2
We are celebrating literacy week at Ranchlands School from Monday, April 28 until Friday, May 2. Each day students will be reading and doing a special literacy activity. On Monday our admin team will be reading to the school and Tuesday there will be a teacher switch so different teachers can read to different classes. On Wednesday, Lisa Bowes, a local author will be here to visit the students, and Thursday we are buddying up to make bookmarks. Lastly, on Friday we are asking that students bring ONE stuffy to do some reading activities with.
Don’t forget! On Thursday evening from 6-7 PM we are inviting families to join our Math/Literacy night where parents and students can join in different learning activities.
Bike to School Day - May 7
We’re excited to invite families to take part in Bike to School Day on Wednesday, May 7th! Students who ride their bikes to school are invited to join in some fun outdoor activities from 8:50 to 9:30 to kick off the day. Afterward, students with bikes may store them safely in the gymnasium and begin their regular school day. Students who are not biking will enter the school at the usual time and take part in in-class activities prepared by their classroom teacher.
In keeping with the spirit of the event, we kindly ask families to bring bikes only - no scooters, skateboards, or other wheels, please. And don’t forget: helmets are mandatory. Students without helmets will not be allowed to participate in biking activities and will need to walk their bike to school.
Let’s roll into May with a healthy, active start — see you on your bikes!

Outstanding School Fees
The 2024-25 school year fees are now due! To prevent your account from going into arrears and being sent out for collection, please login to your MyCBE parent account to review your child's outstanding school fees and make a payment. Alternatively, please visit the school to make a payment with your debit or credit card. Please note that cash and cheques are no longer accepted. More information about the CBE School Fees can be located at https://cbe.ab.ca/registration/fees-and-waivers/Pages/default.aspx.
Are You Concerned That You Cannot Afford to Pay School Fees? Apply for a Central Fee Waiver!
No child is ever denied access to an education at the Calgary Board of Education due to their family’s inability to pay. The CBE offers a Central Fee Waiver which is based upon income level and covers the following centrals fees: Yellow School Bus Transportation, Lunch Supervision Service Fee and Student Supplies Fee. Please log in to your MyCBE parent account to complete the 2024-25 Central Fee Waiver Application. More information about the Central Fee Waiver can be located at https://cbe.ab.ca/registration/fees-and-waivers/Pages/Waivers.aspx.
As always, please call the office at 403-777-6350 ext 0 if you have any questions or concerns.
Have a wonderful weekend!
