Terry Fox School Run
Our school run will take place on Friday, September 18 and will proceed rain or shine. As a fun incentive, any student who donates $50 or more will earn the opportunity to throw a pie at Mr. Wigglesworth or Mr. White during the Terry Fox Celebration Assembly on Thursday, September 24!
Donations of any amount are greatly appreciated, and students may bring coins or bills to school up until Monday, September 21. Families can also donate online through our school's fundraising page: Ranchlands School Donation Page (tax receipt issued automatically to you via email). Please note: If you make an online donation, kindly email your child’s teacher with the donation amount so your child can be included in the pie-throwing incentive which will happen on Thursday, September 24.
Whole-School Art Residency (October 5-9)
Do you love candy? Do you enjoy Halloween? We are excited to welcome local artist Lauren Walker to Ranchlands School for a fun and creative art residency from October 5-9! Throughout the week, students will explore the concept of scale in art by learning how to transform tiny candy treats into larger-than-life creations. Using a variety of artistic techniques, students will investigate size, shape, and proportion while creating unique Halloween-themed decorations.
We look forward to a week filled with creativity, imagination, and plenty of festive fun!

School Council News
Save the Date! November 25 & 26 - Ranchlands School Council Casino
AFORCS (Association for the Friends of Ranchlands Community School) is excited to share that we have been granted another casino event at ACE CASINO AIRPORT (40 Aero Crescent NE) on WEDNESDAY NOV 25, 2026, AND THURSDAY NOV 26, 2026. We are eligible for an event like this every eighteen to twenty-four months; the funds raised from events like this is what enables us to provide students with field trips, in class speakers, new technology, school resources, and more, at little or no cost to families.
This is where you come in – WE NEED VOLUNTEERS! You do not need to have prior experience. Volunteering at a casino can be a lot of fun, you’ll get a free meal (the food at this casino has been amazing in the past), and it’s a great way to meet other people from the Ranchlands School Community. We would love to see some new faces this year!
