Remembrance Day Assembly – Wednesday, November 6 If you have any family members who have been or are currently involved with any military and wish to have them included in the assembly, please send a picture of that family member and of your Ranchlands student with a small description of their involvement to kianeuman@cbe.ab.ca before November 4 if you wish to be included. Thank you for your participation.
Please Note: Our local Royal Canadian Legion Branch will be providing all students with a poppy for this ceremony. Please consider making a small donation to them. Thank you!
No School For All Students on Friday, November 8 This is a Professional Development Day, and there is no school for all students.
No School For All Students from November 11 - November 13 There is no school for all students from Monday, November 11 through Wednesday, November 13 due to the Remembrance Day Statutory Holiday and Fall Break.
Picture Retake Day - Thursday, November 14 Not happy with your original school photos? Photo retakes will be available to anyone who would like one.
Ranchlands School Council In-Person & Virtual Meeting - Tuesday, November 19, at 6:45pm All parent(s)/guardian(s) of students attending Ranchlands School are welcome to attend! Please join us in the Ranchlands School library or online. The online link will be shared closer to the date.
Healthy Hunger Fun Lunch – Wednesday, November 20 This month's fun lunch will be provided by Dominos Pizza. Orders must be placed no later than Friday, November 15. www.healthyhunger.ca
Parent-Teacher Conferences - November 28 & 29 Parents will have the option of attending an in-person or online parent-teacher conference. Conferences will take place on November 28 from 4:30pm to 7:30pm and on November 29 from 8:30am to 1pm. The School Conference Booking system will be open for parents to book a 15 minute one-on-one time slot beginning November 21 at 8am. Please access the booking system via your MyCBE account. Halloween Family Dance Thank you!
Ranchlands School would like to thank School Council for organizing and running our very successful Halloween Family Dance! It was great to see so many families enjoying the Halloween spirit. We raised $404 and 123kg of food for the Ranchlands Community Pantry program. Your support of our school community and the wider community is appreciated!

Child & Youth Well-Being Family and Caregiver Fall/Winter Series 2024/25
The Calgary Board of Education invites all parents and guardians to join us in a pre-recorded and live online series focusing on child and youth well-being. These sessions will be hosted in partnership with experts from Alberta Health Services and Recovery Alberta and will explore topics such as Peer Pressure, Healthy Relationships, Mental Health for Highly Sensitive Teens, and navigating Parent-Teen relationships. Suggestions from the Well-Being team are listed below:

Description: The effects of screen time on the developing brain. The behavioural outcomes of too much screen time and how and when technology can be beneficial.
