Announcements
Terry Fox School Run
Terry Fox, one of Canada’s greatest heroes, dedicated his life to raising funds for cancer research in hopes of finding a cure. His journey to run across Canada inspired generations of Canadians to take action. This year, we’re thrilled to participate in the 2025 Terry Fox School Run, set for Friday, September 19th, 2025. Should weather conditions force a change, we will notify you of an alternate date.
We need your help to support this important cause and boost our students’ fundraising efforts. This event not only funds essential cancer research but also fosters school spirit and unity. Together, let’s show our community’s generosity and reach our goal of $1500.
In support of the Terry Fox Foundation, we will be hosting our annual coin drive. Our theme this year is “Toonies for Terry,” but all denominations—nickels, dimes, quarters, loonies, and toonies—are welcome. Donations will be collected from September 15th to September 22nd, 2025.
Additionally, the Terry Fox Foundation has created a custom online fundraising page for our school. You can begin donating today at: https://schools.terryfox.ca/Ranchlands. Please remember to email your child’s teacher with the donation amount if you contribute online, as we’ll be running a friendly competition to see which class raises the most. The winning class will earn a pizza party!
Both staff and students at Ranchlands are excited to participate in this year’s event. Let’s “Try Like Terry” and make this event memorable while supporting cancer research and building school spirit.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact the school at (403) 777-6350. Thank you for helping us keep Terry’s dream alive and work toward a cancer-free future! Mrs. Baker & Mr. Hefler
