Kindergarten Registration for 2025-2026
As we plan for next year, please ensure that you register your child for kindergarten as soon as possible. Please share this message with anyone you know who has a kindergarten student who has not yet registered!
Visit www.cbe.ab.ca/kindergarten to learn more about when your child can begin kindergarten and how to register for the 2025-2026 school year. Registrations are now completed online at: https://cbe.ab.ca/registration/registration/Pages/new-students.aspx.
Planning For the 2025-26 School Year
It is hard to believe, but we are already well underway planning for the 2025-26 school year! Please be sure to contact the office and let us know if your family will be moving out of our catchment area or if you know that your child will not be returning to Ranchlands School next year.
Please note: All of our Grade 6 students will be automatically designated to H.D. Cartwright School for Grade 7, and parents do not need to do anything unless you plan for your child to attend somewhere else for Grade 7.
Indoor Shoes
Please ensure that your child continues to come to school in a different pair of shoes than they wear at school. More dirt and debris is being tracked into the school now that the weather has warmed up and when students do not change into their indoor shoes. Indoor shoes are meant to remain at school. Our Facility Operator and cleaning team thank you very much!

Ranchlands School New Playground Committee
We are excited to announce a new initiative to build a brand-new playground for our children! This playground will provide a safe, engaging, and inclusive space where kids can play, explore, and develop important social and physical skills. However, to make this dream a reality, we need your support and involvement.
Our Goal:
The estimated cost to build the playground is between $500,000 and $700,000. This will cover the cost of design, equipment, installation, and safety features. It is a significant goal, but with the support of our community, we are confident we can reach it!
How You Can Help
We are forming a Playground Committee to oversee the planning and fundraising efforts. If you're interested in volunteering your time and talents to help us, we’d love to have you join.
Additionally, we are kicking off fundraising activities to help cover the costs of the playground. We’ll be hosting a variety of events, and every contribution counts, whether it’s through donations, volunteering your time, or helping us spread the word.
How to Get Involved:
- Join the Playground Committee: If you would like to be part of the planning and fundraising team, please email Ranchlandsparentvolunteers@gmail.com
- Participate in Fundraising Events: Look out for announcements about upcoming events, and consider attending or contributing.
Together, we can create a wonderful space for our children to enjoy for years to come. We appreciate any support you can offer, whether it's time, money, or simply spreading the word to others who may be interested in helping.
Thank you for your ongoing support in making our school/community a better place for our children.
Ranchlands Community Association News
RCA Free Tax Clinic
The Ranchlands Community Association is running a tax clinic that is open until April 12th and is free for those who qualify. It is designed to support Ranchlands residents of modest income who are also seniors, newcomers, students and youth, individuals with disabilities, and Indigenous persons. The program covers simple tax returns, so if you meet these criteria, you may be eligible to have your taxes filed for you at no cost. To find out more information or to see if you qualify, please contact the Tax Clinic at TaxClinic@ranchlandscommunity.com or by calling (587) 207-5909. This clinic is recognized by the CRA and follows their established guidelines. We are currently offering appointments in person or via zoom, with both weekday and weekend availabilities.
Seven Sacred Teachings
Respect is one of the Seven Sacred Teachings in Indigenous traditions, emphasizing the importance of honoring all living beings, the land, and oneself. Represented by the Buffalo, respect teaches us to recognize the value of everything around us and to treat others with kindness, understanding, and humility. Just as the buffalo provided for the survival of many Indigenous peoples, showing deep respect ensures harmony and balance in our relationships and communities.
As always, please call the office at 403-777-6350 ext 0 if you have any questions or concerns.
Have a wonderful weekend!
