Healthy Hunger Fun Lunch – Wednesday, November 22

This month's fun lunch will be provided by OPA! Orders must be placed no later than Friday, November 17. www.healthyhunger.ca

Parent-Teacher Conferences - November 23 & 24

Parents have the option of attending an in-person or online parent-teacher conference. Conferences will take place on November 23 from 4:30pm to 7:30pm and on November 24 from 8:30am to 1pm. The School Conference Booking system is now open for parents to book a 15 minute one-on-one time slot. Please access the booking system via your MyCBE account. Feel free to contact the office at 403-777-6350 ext 0 if you require any assistance.

No School For ALL Students - Friday, November 24

There is no school for all students on November 24 due to parent-teacher conferences.

Pulse Dance Residency for ALL Students - November 27 - December 7

Mark your calendars for a culminating celebration performance on the evening of December 7th! Thank you to School Council for covering the cost of this exciting opportunity.

Bridge Club - IT'S FREE! Mondays from 3:50pm – 5:50pm Starting November 20

The Calgary Bridge Foundation for Youth (https://cbfy.ca/) is offering a FREE program which will be held at Ranchlands School every Monday from 3:50pm to 5:50pm starting on November 20. The program is open to Grade 1-6 students who are 1st/2nd generation immigrants, low-income, or Indigenous youth. Registration is open and there are still spaces available. Please see the attached brochure for full details. See flyer under Resources.

Winter Weather Reminder

Living in Calgary means unpredictable weather! Please ensure that your child is dressed appropriately for winter weather each day and send them to school with a warm jacket, mitts and hat. Students spend time outdoors each day, including at recess and at lunchtime as long as the temperature is at or above -20 (with the wind chill).

Safe Driving and School Parking

DO NOT PARK IN THE STAFF PARKING LOT AT ANY TIME

As the weather gets colder please remember to follow traffic laws and drive safely around the school. Please park by the school field, not in front of the school during peak times in the morning and after school, as this is a bus and disabled parking zone. Parking is NOT allowed in the staff parking lot at any time, as all of the spots are reserved for staff.

School Council News

Ranchlands School Council Casino

Thank you, thank you, thank you to all those parents and volunteers who worked a shift on November 15 and 16 at the casino! This is a significant fundraiser that supports many resources and initiatives within our school. The new Mac laptops we received in June and the dance residency starting next week are just a couple of examples that this fundraiser pays for. Thanks again to everyone that made this a success.

Alberta Health Services - Free Online Event on November 21 at 7pm

AHS is offering a free online event, "Navigating Mental Illness in Children and Its Impact on Parenting: Struggles, Hopes, and Triumphs." The event aims to provide valuable insights into the challenges faced by parents dealing with mental illness in their children, as well as the strategies and triumphs that come with navigating this complex terrain. Hindu Heritage Month
